Avenue Design Studio is a boutique interior design studio with a focus on residential design. The studio creates spaces that are aesthetically layered, visibly personal and functional, and that ultimately stand the test of time, working in a collaborative approach alongside architects, contractors, makers and industry professionals to create homes that are an extension of our clients' personal vision and story.
The Avenue aesthetic is a reflection of its founders' international background spanning Australia, Africa and Europe. With an emphasis on materialism and tactility, our interiors are rooted in timelessness.
Pared back yet meticulously layered, effortless yet skilfully detailed, each space strikes a harmonious balance between laid back and luxurious. What makes Avenue Design Studio unique is its ability to work across the design spectrum from conceptualisation to completion. For a client, this means a simplified design process with fewer layers of communication; we deal with all aspects of our interior design projects from concepts and design to material selection, furniture design, styling, art & accessories curation, and eventually, styling and photography of the finished space.
The studio's completed projects have featured in leading interiors publications across the globe, both in print and online.
B A C K G R O U N D
Avenue began in 2012 as an interior design, styling, photography and lifestyle platform, founded by the studio's principal Holly Marder. In 2017, interior designer Hedda Pier joined as partner and the duo merged to form Avenue Design Studio, undertaking together in their office in The Hague several of the projects seen in our portfolio. In 2020, Hedda left the partnership in pursuit of other ventures. Holly subsequently moved the studio to her home town of Delft, The Netherlands, where she and her team operate from their canal front studio space.
In the summer of 2021, the studio expanded to incorporate a gallery that highlights a curated collection of vintage and design furniture, art, objects, textiles and the studio’s own designs.

Principal & Interior Designer
Founder Holly Marder is an interior designer and photographer with an innate sensitivity to beauty and an instinctive feel for textiles, colour and spacial authenticity. Holly has a keen stylist eye and her strength lies in layering the studio’s designed interiors down to the final detail, evoking emotion through light and balance in every space. Along with her role as head designer and creative director of Avenue Design Studio, Holly manages all marketing and visual communications, as well as the day-to-day runnings of the studio, the team and the projects.

Interior Architect
Alba Bruynel carries a degree in architecture with a specialisation in interior design which she obtained in Milan, Italy. In the studio, Alba undertakes many of the technical aspects of our projects, as well as having a hand in creative concepts and project research. With an upbringing in Spain and roots in Northern Europe, Alba’s minimalist approach to design melds with the tactility of Southern architecture. A master of restraint with an eye for detail, her work for Avenue employs a pure and unassuming narrative that marries beautifully with the Avenue aesthetic.
S I M O N A S T A R A
Interior Designer
Simona Stara is trained in interior design in The Netherlands following a relocation from the Czech Republic. As part of the Avenue team, Simona takes great care in producing technical material for the studio’s projects. Her highly pragmatic approach to design, critical eye for detail, intrinsic curiosity and problem-solving approach are an asset to the team. Her beautiful renderings are much loved by our clients. Simona’s long-standing interest in furniture design has been an integral part of the studio’s recent branch into our own line of furniture for GALLERY Avenue.
